How Will They Learn?

When I hold the door for someone and they pass on through without so much as a "thank you" or even a nod or smile, I loudly utter "YOU'RE WELCOME" to their back. My wife gets mortified by this, but how will these incredibly rude people ever learn unless the error of their ways is pointed out to them?

There are lots of other examples I could list, as I'm sure you could too. What's the sense of stewing over a wrong when you can maybe, just maybe, create a future right?

Today we found out that a site we designed won a 2006 WebAward. Not only were we not informed by the client that the site won, but also this client listed themselves as the designer. After a couple of hours of being royally pissed off, I crafted and sent off a pleasantly scathing email.

They may always be scumbags, but at least now they're aware that I KNOW they're scumbags. And I feel like telling everyone.

A First

A client sent us an email earlier this week with both good and bad news. The bad news was that his company had ceased operations. They were a startup specializing in emergency-preparedness planning, training, and exercises for local/state/federal governments and businesses. Apparently they were banking on a big government contract--which they didn't get. Not so surprising when you realize they were a bunch of bright, incredibly capable guys who could have really made a difference. The Bush League hates their type.

The good news was that they are cooking up something new and want our help.

Now to the "first" referenced in the title of this post. We haven't had/made the time to update our website with recent client work for, well, quite a while now. And they now represent our first client to ever go out of business before we could put their site in our portfolio.
